Ravens and Redwings
Bosque del Apache NWR in New Mexico in the winter home of thousands upon thousands of Sandhill Cranes AND Snow Geese. In the evening wave upon wave of cranes settle in to ponds to take refuge from overnight predators. At dawn they reverse course and head out to fields where they forage for the day. While waiting for the mass exodus I spotted these ravens and redwing blackbirds patiently waiting for the sun to rise. It gets suprisingly cold in New Mexico...suprisingly very cold!
