Eagle Soaring

Taken in Yellowstone at China Garden, not far from the northeast entrance in the month of February. It was the least amount of snow I have ever seen in February in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. This eagle is approaching an elk kill in the Gardner River which was frequented by the wolves that killed it and a huge pack of coyotes when the wolves were absent. A curious thing: The Gardner River runs through Gardiner, Montana. Somewhere along the way someone screwed up the spelling of the name of the river and no one has ever corrected it. Why is that? Everyone has a bad day now and then. The original map maker screwed up. Fix it!
