Double Eagles

This is a young breeding pair of bald eagles at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Maryland. Eagles mate at about 5 years old. The larger raptor is the female (the one on the right, Jon). Eagles mate for life. They normally lay two or three eggs and they are incubated for about 35 days. They look like very strict parents.
