Black Bear Pose
I have never felt threatened by a black bear. They have scared the pants off of me but I never felt in danger. Black bears seem to glide silently through the woods. While hunkered down photographing another animal I have twice had a bear walk up a hill and end up within 15 feet of me. I'm assuming they did not see me. I would then, slowly, ever so slowly, walk backwards away from them. Believe it or not, both completely ignored me...thank God. Had it been a grizzly bear that close to me I would probably screamed and cried like a girl!
