Bald Eagle in Snowstorm

The bald eagle was chosen on June 20, 1782 to be the emblem of the United States of American, because of its long life, great strength and majestic looks, and also because it was then believed to exist only on this continent. Ben Franklin wanted our national symbol to be the Turkey. I'm glad he did not prevail.
